Module 3

Module 3

The goal of Module 3 is to learn how to apply Swiss German to everyday situations and to put the lessons into practice.

To facilitate this, the teacher and student agree upon a meeting point in the city and they play out a scenario exactly as it would happen in real life. This method can be applied to various situations such as placing an order in a café, shopping at a supermarket, or giving directions. Generally, the situations are adapted to suit the lifestyle of the student so that he or she can learn new vocabulary and use communication patterns appropriate for everyday situations.

It is important that the student broadens his or her repertoire of phrases and learns strategies to help increase his or her confidence when using Swiss German. This effectively rids the student of inhibitions and fears while enabling the student to instinctively recall the correct phrases. As a result, the student will be able to confidently encounter new situations using Swiss German.
